eduroam Wi-Fi setup

Windows and MacOS

You will need:
1. Your UofG email address (@glasgow, @student or @research) and your password
2. A temporary internet connection (try flexaccess Wi-Fi if on campus, which lets you view UofG webpages only)

iOS (iPhone, iPad)

1. Turn on Wi-Fi
2. Tap Settings then Wi-Fi
3. Select eduroam
4. Enter these settings:

  • Username: your UofG email address
  • Password: your password

5. Tap Accept when the Certificate information is shown.

Android

1. Turn on Wi-Fi
2. Tap Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi
3. Tap eduroam
4. Enter these settings:

  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase-2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
  • CA certificate (if prompted): Use system certificates
  • Domain (if prompted): radius.gla.ac.uk
  • Identity: Your University email address
  • If your device has an Anonymous identity field, leave this blank
  • Password: Your password

5. Tap Connect and wait for the message 'Connected to eduroam'

Linux

1. Click on your Wi-Fi icon and click on eduroam to connect
2. Enter these settings:

  • Wi-Fi Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
  • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • PEAP version: Automatic
  • Inner Authentication: MSCHAPv2
  • Username: Your UofG email address
  • Password: Your password

3. Click Connect

Once set up, you can use eduroam Wi-Fi at institutions around the world. If you intend to use it elsewhere, test it here at UofG first.
